Privacy Policy

Last updated September 8, 2026

This policy covers rajatmanikarn.com — the tools, articles, and account features on this site — and explains what data it collects, why, and how it's handled. This site is run by an individual, not a company, and it doesn't sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

What's collected, and why

Accounts

Creating an account stores your email address and display name. If you sign up with a password, it's never stored in plain text — only a salted PBKDF2 hash is kept, so even the site operator cannot read it. If you sign in with Google, Google handles authentication and this site only receives your email address and name from that flow; it never sees your Google password. Signing in sets a session cookie that identifies your logged-in session; it contains only a random token, not your credentials, and only a hash of that token is stored server-side.

Contact form

Submitting the contact form stores your name, email address, subject, and message so it can be read and replied to. It's kept to answer your message and isn't used for marketing or shared with anyone else.

Interactive tools

The browser-based tools on this site (calculators, converters, and similar utilities) run entirely in your browser. Inputs you type into them are not sent to or stored on the server unless a tool explicitly says otherwise.

Analytics

This site may use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate traffic stats (pages viewed, rough visitor counts). It's cookieless and doesn't track you across other sites or build an individual profile of you.

Cookies

This site sets exactly two cookies, both first-party and neither used for advertising or cross-site tracking:

NamePurposeDuration
sessionKeeps you signed in. Set only if you create an account or sign in.Up to 30 days, or until sign-out
sidebar_stateRemembers whether an admin sidebar panel is open or collapsed. Admin-area only.7 days

This site may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless — it doesn't set or read any cookie, and no consent banner is required for it.

Where data lives

All data described above is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (D1 for structured data, R2 for uploaded files), which this site runs on. Cloudflare acts as the infrastructure provider and doesn't use this data for its own purposes.

Your choices

  • You can change or delete your account password from your account settings.
  • To request a copy or deletion of your data — including contact-form messages or your account — email hello@rajatmanikarn.com.
  • Sessions expire automatically; signing out on a device immediately invalidates that session.

Changes to this policy

If what this site collects or how it's used changes materially, this page will be updated and the date above will change.
